...a pension?

Lots of us feel our eyes glazing over when the subject of pensions is mentioned. However, we much prefer to focus on the word CHOICE when it comes to talking about something that will fundamentally affect our basic quality of life, once we've finished working.

For example, if you start saving now, this will undoubtedly result in having greater choice about the sort of life you will be able to lead following retirement…

… and who'd you'd like to rely upon, yourself or the government.

Here are three very good reasons why you should really consider making your choice sooner, rather than later…

  1. You could live for a long time after you stop working, possibly another 30 years.
  2. You can’t rely on someone else to help you and you certainly shouldn't assume that the government will provide you with sufficient for your needs.
  3. Burying your head in the sand and not planning could basically result in having to work a lot longer than you would like.

TOP TIP: If an employer has a contributory pension scheme you should join it and if you can afford to contribute some additional money yourself then it would be wise to do so. Choose to “Pay Yourself First" by putting money into a pension.
